Before the lottery for magnet schools is conducted, the magnet site coordinator at each school must verify whether students who apply are eligible for their program based on the documentation submitted, which depends on the grade level. For example, most middle and high school programs requires students to submit grades from the last four consecutive semesters and valid standardized test scores; however, many elementary programs use a screening instrument to determine if students are academically ready for the program.
All applicants must submit a signature page and two valid proofs of residency to determine if they are eligible for the program.
