Mckinley Elementary Magnet's vision is for all students to experience authentic, culturally responsive, and engaging learning experiences that will shape our students into critical thinkers who solve global and community issues in a project-based learning environment. Our mission is to empower every student to embrace an immersive, personalized learning environment that fosters high expectations, integrates emotional intelligence, and promotes respect for others; guiding them toward becoming global citizens. McKinley Elementary Magnet Museum School of the Arts and Communication offers a unique educational experience by integrating the rich resources of museums and cultural institutions with the art of communication technology. Students have regular access to museum exhibits; allowing them to explore history, science, art, and culture in a tangible and impactful way. With a component focusing on the basics of communication, students improve digital media literacy with creative expression. As a Museum Magnet School of Arts, we utilize object-based instruction and project-based learning in all subjects. Students are given opportunities to learn about the world around them through varied learning expeditions to places in the community and partner museums where they can explore, express, and elaborate their understanding of content through the creation of knowledge products, showcased in quarterly Exhibition Nights.
