Grades: A cumulative 2.50 grade point average (GPA) based on the last four (4) consecutive semesters

Test scores: Perform on a level of Basic or above on LEAP 2025 or the equivalent on a norm-referenced assessment in both ELA and math

Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet is a high school preparatory and college/career readiness dedicated academic magnet program. Strong academic performance, proven student success, and a dedicated faculty with a supportive administration have made our school the highest performing middle school in the district for the past thirteen years. The school's mission is to empower students with academic knowledge and skills necessary to successfully handle a rigorous high school preparatory and college/career readiness curriculum in a diverse setting.

 

At Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet, you can experience a national Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, a rigorous high school prep curriculum, state-of-the-art technology, unique electives and an award winning faculty! Since learning with technology is a priority in our classrooms, student 1:1 use of Google Chromebooks plays a major role in classroom instruction. We also incorporate innovative software like MyMathLab, with Eureka Math to support fluency while gaining conceptual understanding of Mathematics.


We also offer challenging courses for high school credit, which includes French I and II, Spanish I and II, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Physical Science, World Geography, Multimedia Productions, Latin I, Keyboarding Applications, and Media Arts. Enrichment classes such as Robotics, Pre-Law, Forensic Science, Marine Science, and Game, Web and App Design offer students enhanced learning opportunities.

At Sherwood Middle Magnet Academic Magnet , "Excellence IS the Standard!" Our campus features an outdoor classroom, garden, tennis courts, and recreation areas.
