The mission of Villa Del Rey Elementary School is to ensure that students take ownership and responsibility for learning and reach their maximum potential, in a safe and caring instructional environment. Teachers will work collaboratively to ensure that all students become academically proficient by meeting or exceeding all state and national standards. Our program will build strong bonds with parents and the community to promote the academic, social and preparedness desired for future careers.

The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) curriculum is based on innovative lessons designed to promote cooperative learning and hands-on inquiry thematically integrated in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Challenging instruction will encourage critical thinking and problem solving challenges at all grade levels to address real-world problems. In addition, students will engage in learning the basic functions of robots, which include construction, maintenance, and programmable behaviors.

Innovative activities and lessons centered around renewable energy will simulate real-world concepts related to technology integration, and project-based learning modules, while promoting cooperative learning and hands-on inquiry.
